I’m not one to deliberately select unflattering pictures, but this picture of Emma Stone attending the screening of ‘A Real Pain’ held during the 62nd New York Film Festival on Saturday, is the only one by herself where you could get a full view of her Louis Vuitton dress.
Despite not being one of the brand’s ambassadors seated in the front row at last week’s show, Emma still managed to snag the first look from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2025 collection.
Considering Emma’s Louis Vuitton dress featured a sheer striped skirt, I know that many are already rolling their eyes, as the ongoing trend continues to divide opinions.
However, had the black panel at the waist sat more centrally, as it did on the runway, the sheer aspect would have been less pronounced, striking a perfect balance between sultry and sophisticated. Unfortunately, the way it sat on Emma may have some feeling it was a little too revealing. It’s a minor detail, but one that might have made all the difference in perception.
Despite this, I find this look incredibly charming for Emma. The combination of brown and beige stripes was perfect for her current deep reddish-brown hairstyle, adding a warmth that beautifully complemented her colouring.
Admittedly, my first thought when I saw this on the runway was that it was made for boho queens like Sienna Miller or Florence Welch. The earthy hues and flowing silhouette scream effortless bohemian glamour, but Emma’s take on it brought a different energy—more refined and less whimsical, but still true to the design’s spirit.
Ultimately, while the sheerness may have been a sticking point for some, Emma’s confidence carried this look. She embraced the daring design with ease.
