Humanrace, the consumer brand founded by the musician, designer and creative polymath Pharrell Williams, has appointed former Off-White CEO Andrea Grilli as its new chief executive effective immediately, the company announced on Thursday. He replaces Rachel Muscat, who co-founded the company in 2020 with Williams.
The company also announced on Thursday that it has secured an undisclosed growth investment from One Luxury Group, the London-based investment firm that also backs Hailey Bieber’s beauty line, Rhode.
In a statement, Grilli said the brand “embodies the desires of the modern consumer” and that his leadership will see the company expand into new categories to support mind, body and spirit.
“The brand has faithfully preserved Pharrell’s vision and integrity… I inherit careful management from the team,” he said.
Williams thanked Muscat for building the company’s foundations, and said Grilli’s leadership and proven track record will help the company evolve and embrace new ideas.
Humanrace offers a range of products including skincare and body care, as well having collaborated with brands including Adidas and rapper Tyler, The Creator’s fragrance label Le Fleur* on projects such as footwear and nail polish collections.
Its skincare, often packaged in vibrant green and designed to be refillable, is stocked in the likes of Selfridges and Nordstrom, as well as on the brand’s e-commerce site.
