Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton Serve Complementary Berry Tones at ‘The Room Next Door’ Madrid Photocall

Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton together attended ‘The Room Next Door’ photocall at the Four Seasons Hotel in Madrid on Wednesday.

These two actresses, each an icon in her own right, seem to have formed a genuine bond during their work on the project, a dynamic that was beautifully mirrored in their complementary berry-hued outfits.

Julianne Moore, known for her understated elegance, stayed true to her minimalist aesthetic. She opted for a quiet, yet sophisticated, look in an aubergine Attersee ensemble. The Cecily jacket, designed to sit slightly off the shoulder, was paired with matching satin trousers. While the black shoes didn’t clash with the look, I did wish she had gone for a head-to-toe colour story, with berry-toned footwear adding a seamless finish.

Tilda Swinton, on the other hand, brought her signature boldness to the event. After a series of Chanel missteps during this press tour, she finally struck gold—quite literally—by opting for a “more-is-more” approach. Her Chanel Fall 2024 Haute Couture ensemble featured an embroidered purple and gold tweed bolero jacket, shirt, and skirt, all harmoniously styled together. And in true Tilda fashion, she didn’t compromise with her footwear either, stepping out in pink satin Manolo Blahnik pumps embellished with a sparkling detail that perfectly tied the look together.

The balance between Julianne’s quiet sophistication and Tilda’s daring approach created a visually compelling moment on the red carpet, showcasing two actresses who understand the power of individual style, yet complement each other beautifully.
