Maria Bakalova returned to the red carpet for the New York screening of ‘The Apprentice’ at the DGA Theater on Tuesday.
Some of you might be looking at the actress in this Balmain blazer and mini skirt and say that it’s giving ‘80s, but I think that is precisely the point.
In ‘The Apprentice’, Maria takes on the role of Donald Trump’s first wife, Ivana Trump, and her look seems like a deliberate homage to her character. From the strong shoulder pads of the blazer to the carefully styled hair, every detail reflects the essence of the iconic fashion of that time and of the lady herself.
Plus, the addition of the exquisite Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany necklace and ring, paired with Elsa Peretti® ear clips and a T1 ring, enhances the look, perfectly capturing the glamour associated with Ivana Trump.
The ‘80s were defined by power suiting and bold, statement-making pieces, and Maria’s outfit embodies this with its opulent detailing and strong silhouette. The blazer’s buttons add a touch of drama that resonates with the era’s penchant for confident dressing. While some might call it method dressing, I believe Maria truly nailed the look, capturing the spirit of Ivana Trump while simultaneously making it her own.
Completing her ensemble with elegant Jimmy Choo pumps, Maria’s has effectively merged nostalgia with modernity.
