Nicole Kidman joined co-star Zoe Saldana on the red carpet for the season 2 premiere of ’Lioness’, held at the Linwood Dunn Theater in Los Angeles.
Styled by Jason Bolden, who has delivered one standout moment after another for Nicole this year—from Cannes to the Met Gala—this look brought a refreshing twist to her red carpet repertoire.
While Nicole has worn Bottega Veneta earlier in the year, this Spring 2025 ensemble added a much-needed dose of playfulness to her style. It wasn’t the white satin backless halter top that stood out, but rather the skirt—a vibrant pleated piece in shades of yellow, lemon, grey, and white, reminiscent of fabric store colour swatches. It was a delightful and unexpected choice for someone typically known for more classic red carpet looks.
When you’re as statuesque as Nicole, a skirt with this much volume and movement is easy to pull off, and I can imagine it flowed beautifully with each step she took. Matthieu Blazy, renowned for his love of detailed skirts, crafted one that added a literal and figurative spring to her step.
Nicole completed the look with Christian Louboutin white ankle strap pumps, a perfectly understated touch that ensured the skirt remained the focal point.
Though Nicole is synonymous with Hollywood elegance, this Bottega Veneta moment showed she’s still willing to surprise us.
Like at the LA premiere of ‘The Perfect Couple’, she brought a blazer to the red carpet, but this time, it didn’t become a key part of the ensemble, allowing the playful skirt to take center stage.
