Thomasin McKenzie Wore Lanvin To The 'Joy' London Film Festival Headline Gala

Thomasin McKenzie, once known for her affinity for frothy, youthful tulle dresses, has undergone a remarkable style evolution in recent years.

On Tuesday, she attended the ‘Joy’ Headline Gala during the 2024 London Film Festival, held at The Royal Festival Hall, alongside her co-star James Norton. Her appearance marked a significant shift towards a more mature and sophisticated aesthetic, one that perfectly matched the mood of the event.

For this occasion, Thomasin wore a strapless Lanvin Resort 2010 gown, which felt like a testament to her growing style sensibility. The dark floral print, set against the backdrop of a beautifully draped silhouette with romantic fluidity, was an ideal choice for the season.

Some might argue that her hairstyle felt a touch aging. However, in my view, it worked harmoniously with the gown’s overall vintage vibe.

Her berry-toned eye makeup and deep cherry lipstick further elevated the look, bringing a sophisticated edge that played off the gown’s rich palette. The makeup, in particular, was a masterstroke, tying the entire look together and offering a bold contrast against her fair complexion.

Thomasin’s red carpet style isn’t just about wearing more “grown-up” designs; it’s about her embracing a sense of self.

As she continues to experiment we can look forward to seeing how her red carpet journey continues to evolve. This Lanvin gown was just another step in the right direction for her ever-developing fashion narrative.
