The cast of ‘Queer’, along with director Luca Guadagnino and guests, turned out for the LA premiere on Wednesday, and true to the film’s fashion-forward essence, every look on the carpet was head-to-toe Loewe. Each star brought their own twist to the brand, but not every look felt like a perfect fit—both literally and figuratively.
Oversized Drama
Ariana Greenblatt is petite, so it’s no surprise that she’s a bit overwhelmed by this voluminous wool jacket and wrap trousers from Loewe’s Fall 2024 collection. The oversized design swallowed her frame. A tailored approach could have helped, though it might have altered the design’s essence. Personally, I feel that a different look would have done her more justice.
Triple Take in Loewe
Drew Starkey is now on his third custom version of this custom Loewe suit after donning it in navy at the Academy Museum Gala and green at the London Film Festival premiere. Here, he opts for a classic black version styled with a brooch to give the look a touch of flair. While consistent, the suit’s classic cut suits him well, proving that he’s found his style sweet spot.

Formality with a Twist
Omar Apollo went for a custom Loewe suit paired with Crown Oxford shoes, and while he’s no stranger to daring looks, this was more formal than his usual vibe. He added a skinny silk tie to push the look into slick, modern territory, but there’s something about Omar’s playful sensibility that gets a little lost here.

Suit and Sneakers Resurgence?
Daniel Craig has stayed true to custom Loewe throughout this press tour, and for LA, he wore a grey pinstripe suit from the Fall 2024 collection, paired with Loewe Flow Runner sneakers and Loewe Groove Round sunglasses. Craig’s suit is polished, but the sneakers give me reason to pause. Is the suit-and-sneaker trend on its way back? If so, Craig seems ready to lead the charge along with Denzel Washington.

Effortless Charm
Director Luca Guadagnino’s custom Loewe suit doesn’t disappoint, paired with a luxe white satin shirt. Loewe Campo Derby shoes completed his look, and his ensemble strikes that effortless elegance we’ve come to expect from him—a natural fit for Luca’s distinct, elevated style.
Casual Cool Workwear
Taylor Zakhar Perez opted for a more relaxed look, rocking a black Loewe workwear jacket and straight-leg jeans from the men’s Fall 2024 collection, finished with Campo Derby shoes. This look was the most casual of the night, which is understandable as this wasn’t his premiere.
