Alessandro Michele continues to cemented his era at Valentino, dressing three celebrities in distinctive looks for the 2024 Governors Awards on Sunday in Los Angeles. Each ensemble bore his signature romanticism, flair for drama, and a touch of eccentricity.
Mint Conditioned Elegance
I knew it was only a matter of time before Elle Fanning became entangled in Alessandro Michele’s Valentino web. Her mint green Valentino Spring 2025 gown, complete with soft faux fur trims and dazzling silver embellishments, perfectly encapsulates the house’s ethereal vision of femininity. While I adore the whimsical caplet, I can’t help but wish it had been left off as the diamond and emerald stone Cartier necklace she wore deserved the full spotlight to itself.

A Bold Shift
Drew Starkey stepping away from Loewe and into Valentino was the kind of red carpet plot twist I live for. Known for his custom Loewe suits in endless colours, it was refreshing to see him embrace this daring red satin lapel blazer from the Valentino Spring 2025 collection. The toggle detail on the stand collar—as first seen on the 2024 Academy Museum Gala red carpet—adds an intriguing touch, proving Drew has more sartorial range than we may have given him credit for. Black Valentino Garavani shoes grounded the look effortlessly.

Ruffles and Retro Romance
Natasha Lyonne continues to thrive in Alessandro Michele’s vision for Valentino. Her Resort 2025 Avant Les Débuts gown, with its ruffled layers and intricate embellishments, feels tailor-made for her quirky-meets-glam aesthetic. The whimsical romanticism and subtle retro vibe make this a standout moment, further solidifying her (unofficial) status as one of Michele’s muses.
