There are some things you spot on the runway and think, “Surely, by the time this hits the red carpet, there’ll be adjustments.” But as we know, some stars are bold enough to wear a runway look exactly as presented. Eve Hewson proved to be one of them at the ‘Bad Sisters’ Season 2 premiere in New York City, stepping out in a Simone Rocha Spring 2025 design that would have had onlookers taking a second glance.
The Irish actress was clearly unfazed by the daring sheer dress, complete with a U-shaped cutout revealing carnation-garlanded high-waist satin underwear. The sheerness was bold enough, but the cutout took things to another level entirely.
Now, I can already hear the collective sigh of frustration from those who are utterly fatigued by sheer gowns. For many, this look will fall into the “too much” category with no redeeming qualities.
But, honestly? I admire the commitment. There’s something to be said for an actress who steps onto the red carpet unapologetically, knowing full well she’s about to spark a thousand debates. If nothing else, Eve knows how to make an impact.
And let’s not ignore the undeniable beauty of her hair and makeup. The polished bun and soft goth glam makeup balanced the theatricality of the gown.
Was this Simone Rocha creation divisive? Absolutely. But red carpet fashion is nothing if not a conversation starter, and Eve Hewson certainly gave us plenty to talk about.
