Here’s a look at the gentlemen who joined Connie Nielsen and Jodie Turner-Smith on the red carpet for the ‘Gladiator II’ royal premiere in London on Wednesday night. These stars each brought a unique perspective, and thankfully, they didn’t all feel the pressure to show up in a standard tux considering it was a royal occasion.
A Quiet Command
Pedro Pascal, a man known for daring red-carpet moments (who could forget those Valentino shorts at the 2023 Met Gala?), opted for a quieter statement. Wearing a sleek black Bottega Veneta shirt with a red accent on the collar, matching trousers, and Bottega Veneta Astaire loafers, Pedro showed us that minimalism can still make an impact. His look had an easy confidence that didn’t need bells and whistles.

Classic Meets Contemporary
Joseph Quinn went for a modern twist, bringing a contemporary edge to his classic charm in custom Prada. His leather jacket and patent leather shoes gave a fresh take on black-tie dressing. While it’s a step away from tradition, the look remains refined yet edgy.

Gucci Nonchalance
Paul Mescal gave us quintessentially cool nonchalance in a Gucci ensemble. With his smart-yet-undone approach, Paul effortlessly embodied a low-key elegance. Completing the look was a Cartier Petit Santos timepiece.
Luxe with Sheer Appeal
Saint Laurent is on a roll with their tailoring this week, but with Reece Feldman’s look, and I’m still deciding if it’s the rich brown hue, the luxe cashmere flannel, or the fact that the reason his tie is so visible on this tonal look is due to him wearing a sheer brown shirt that makes this one so striking. Saint Laurent Jean derbies completed his look.
Subtle Sparkle in Argyle
Andrew Scott brought charm and understated flash all at once wearing a shimmering blue and charcoal argyle cardigan, paired with tapered trousers and Gucci loafers.

Classic, But Not Polished
Denzel Washington went traditional with a Dolce & Gabbana Martini-fit suit, but, unfortunately, the too-long trousers and sneakers took away from the polish. A classic look deserves classic tailoring, and the sneakers didn’t do it justice.
