If you’ve been here long enough, you’ll know that Jennifer Lopez operates in fashion phases. Right now, it’s all about Zuhair Murad—high glam and heavy embellishment—and frankly, I’m living for it.
Following her look at the ‘Wicked’ LA premiere, JLo continued this sparkling streak at the 2024 Governors Awards in a gown from Zuhair Murad’s Fall 2024 Couture collection. And while I know her last outing in the Lebanese designer divided opinions for feeling dated, I’m fully on board with this “Madame Web” moment.
The gown is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. The black and silver beaded bodice, adorned with fringe details on an illusion panel, strikes the perfect balance—it hints at sensuality without revealing too much. But let’s not overlook the drama. The opulence of the black velvet train brought grandeur that we expect from Jennifer. It’s unapologetically OTT, but honestly, what is JLo without a little over-the-top magic?
I can already hear the critiques that this was “too much” for the event. Maybe it was. But Jennifer Lopez is never here to blend in. Her style DNA is built on glamour, extravagance, and a commitment to making every appearance feel like an event in itself.
Finishing touches included a Tyler Ellis clutch and her signature layered blowout.
