Jodie Turner-Smith graced ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,’ where she discussed her daughter’s excitement for the play version of ‘Wicked,’ comedic moments with Vince Vaughn in ‘Bad Monkey,’ and working alongside Richard Gere in Paramount+’s ‘The Agency.’
It’s no secret how much I admire Jodie’s style. Equally, it’s no secret how I feel about Balmain’s pagoda shoulder blazer, the no-eyebrow aesthetic, and an all-black ensemble—especially on someone as dynamic as Jodie (or Lupita).
Yet, here I am, completely hooked. What can I say? Jodie has this almost hypnotic ability to pull off anything. This look has me questioning everything I thought I knew about my own taste.
Jodie’s vibe feels more “promoting a sci-fi blockbuster” than “spy-love-story-thriller,” but that’s part of her magic. Her bold choices keep me on edge in the best possible way. While her style recently leaned more subdued during this promotional tour (especially in terms of her styling), this look screams, “I’m back.”
The sharp silhouette of the blazer paired with her signature poise reminds us why she’s a sartorial chameleon.
The ensemble was styled with black Christian Louboutin shoes and elevated by striking pieces from Dena Kemp, Miraki, and Suzanne Kalan Fine Jewelry.
It’s bold, and it’s the Jodie I’ve been waiting for.
