Louis Vuitton Opens Temporary NYC Flagship Store

Louis Vuitton opened the doors to its temporary Fifth Avenue flagship store this week, which will serve as a replacement for the brand’s New York City flagship during a planned three-year renovation.

Upon arrival in the atrium, shoppers are greeted by an installation of Louis Vuitton trunk towers designed by architect Shohei Shigematsu, while bookshelves, art and standalone displays of iconic handbags solidify a heavy focus on design throughout the space. In addition to spacious product displays, the store has three VIP shopping suites and New York-centric collectible items.

The maison also brought Le Café Louis Vuitton and Chocolat Maxime Frédéric, a café and chocolate shop, stateside for the first time. Starr restaurant group, which operates popular New York City restaurants including Pastis and Le Coucou, partnered with Louis Vuitton on the library-style café.

The store officially opens to the public on Nov. 15, and will welcome press and other guests for an opening night on Thursday.
