Saoirse Ronan Wore Celine To 'The Outrun' LA Screening

Saoirse Ronan took us on a nostalgic fashion journey at the CAA Screening of The Outrun in LA, reviving a look that’s earned cult status from the Celine Fall 2013 collection.

Why cult status, you ask? Well, this ensemble is all about the iconic print that bears an uncanny resemblance to a laundry bag—the red, white, and blue checked ones that are as much a part of market culture as they are a distant sartorial memory.

Back in 2013, Phoebe Philo did the impossible. She took those plasticky, crackly granny bags and gave them the high-fashion treatment. Somehow, she made them chic, edgy, and incredibly covetable.

Instead of the square, utilitarian edges the bag is known for, this outfit feels softer, more fluid—a testament to Philo’s brilliance and Saoirse’s ability to elevate anything she wears.

The outfit is decidedly fall-appropriate, with the black Khaite Cedar square-toe pumps feeling more functional than fashionable here.

Ultimately, though, Saoirse knows how to make a statement, and this laundry bag print never looked so good.
