Tilda Swinton attended the Deadline Contenders Film: Los Angeles event at the Directors Guild of America on Saturday, where she spoke about her collaboration with Pedro Almodóvar on ‘The Room Next Door’, a Golden Lion-winning film centered on a years-long female friendship.
It’s safe to say that Tilda has her groove back, and this sand-coloured Schiaparelli Fall 2024 double-breasted suit, embellished with bijoux buttons, is proof of that.
The suit alone is a masterpiece, but what really sets this look apart is Tilda’s styling. The tan suede cowboy boots with gold tips elevate the outfit far beyond what we saw on the runway, where plain brown boots fell flat in comparison. It’s this kind of thoughtful styling that makes her one of the most intriguing personalities on the red carpet.
And we need to talk about the faux hair braided cowboy tie. Faux hair is clearly having a moment—Cate Blanchett’s Fiorucci top and Rita Ora’s Ashi Studio hairweft gown paved the way—and Tilda’s take feels both avant-garde and distinctly her own.
Another interesting detail is how she chose to button her jacket. It’s a subtle tweak, but it shifts the focus and almost makes the faux hair tie blend seamlessly into the outfit.
In a sea of classic Hollywood glamour, Tilda is always the outlier in the best way possible. This Schiaparelli suit is another reminder of why her sartorial choices deserve a moment of appreciation every time she steps out.
I’ve missed this from her.
