The LA premiere of Nicole Kidman’s highly anticipated film ‘Babygirl’ drew a star-studded crowd to the DGA Theater Complex on Wednesday evening. While Nicole’s breathtaking custom Balenciaga gown dominated the conversation, there were plenty of other looks worth dissecting—for better or worse.
Louis Vuitton Trio: A Missed Opportunity for Harmony
Este Haim, Alana Haim, and Danielle Haim all opted for Louis Vuitton, but their collective effort felt disjointed. I don’t expect them to coordinate every outing, but this was a bit all over the place. It’s hard not to compare this to Freen and Becky’s recent appearance, where their contrasting styles still managed to complement each other. That sense of harmony was sorely missed here. Alana’s look, in particular, could’ve benefited from stronger footwear, and Danielle’s ensemble didn’t quite hit the mark either. Este, however, earns a pass, but just barely.
Velvet and Sheer Sophistication
KiKi Layne continues her red carpet comeback in spectacular fashion. Her SAGIO Haute Couture gown, blending velvet with sheer elements, felt both dramatic and refined. The addition of statement earrings elevated the look further, proving once again that she’s in her fashion era.
Modern Minimalism
Devon Ross brought texture to the red carpet with her black ribbed knit Louis Vuitton top and skirt. The flared hems provided a refreshing detail, elevating an otherwise minimalist look.
Latex Thriller Moment
Halsey leaned into the theme of the evening with her pink and black latex outfit. Opera gloves tied the look to the thriller genre of ‘Babygirl,’ making it clear she considered the cinematic connection.
Timeless Yet Predictable
Laura Harrier stuck to her signature fitted silhouette, and while it remains a reliable choice, it’s hard to ignore its predictability. That said, she wears it so impeccably that it’s still difficult to complain.
