Kerry Washington attended the Los Angeles premiere of Netflix’s The Six Triple Eight at The Egyptian Theatre, and in doing so, she delivered one of the most memorable red carpet moments of the week so far, which is crazy considering the major events that have taken place.
Kerry’s long-standing relationship with Prada has always been fruitful, but this custom creation might just be one of the pinnacles of their collaboration. The pink cap-sleeve gown, dripping in crystal detailing, feels like a masterclass in understated opulence.
It’s the kind of dress that doesn’t just make a statement; it leaves you speechless.
We’re a meticulous bunch when it comes to red carpet critique, and usually, this is the moment I’d be nitpicking over some minor element. But I have no notes. None. If I had to find one, I might suggest the hem could have been a fraction of an inch shorter, but even that feels like splitting hairs. This dress is perfection, and arguably Kerry’s best since her Met Gala moment.
The beauty styling takes this look to the next level. The softness of her makeup and the retro-inspired faux bob offer a modern take on old Hollywood glamour, adding an ethereal quality to an already heavenly ensemble.
I’m in awe. Truly. And I’m currently reworking my BDOTY list to attempt to make space for this look because it deserves nothing less. Kerry Washington and Prada understood the assignment—and then some.
