Nicole Kidman was honoured with the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award at The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Awards held in Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon. The award celebrates individuals whose leadership and impact extend far beyond their own fields, and Nicole’s legacy is nothing short of deserving.
What caught my attention, however, was her unexpected fashion choice. Nicole opted for a look from the SHUSHU/TONG Fall 2023 collection. Known for their bold, playful, and unapologetically feminine designs inspired by pop and Gen Z culture, SHUSHU/TONG isn’t the first label you’d associate with Nicole’s typically refined style.
The look featured signature elements from the brand—a ruffled yoke and bows—but it was selected for its polished edge, steering clear of the “twee” aesthetic often associated with SHUSHU/TONG.
For me, this dress was reminiscent of late L’Wren Scott, with its figure-skimming silhouette and unconventional elegance. Nicole looked sexy and sophisticated all at once, proving she can merge modernity with timeless appeal.
I’m in awe of this moment, particularly how Jason Bolden, her stylist, brought SHUSHU/TONG into Nicole’s world seamlessly. This is Nicole embracing playful details without sacrificing her commanding presence.
And can we talk about how her beauty look has evolved since Monday? The recent goth-inspired makeup has given way to a more glamorous, polished vibe. It’s refreshing and complements the overall tone of her outfit perfectly.
Finishing the look with Roberto Coin jewels I love how Nicole is showing that she can surprise us, even after all these years.
