Nicole Kidman has been keeping us busy on the red carpet lately, juggling a multitude of projects while making her presence felt at every major awards ceremony. This week, she turned her attention back to promoting ‘Babygirl’ at the LA premiere held at the DGA Theater Complex on Wednesday.
Following the world premiere during the Venice Film Festival in August, Nicole once again took our breath away, this time in a custom Balenciaga Haute Couture strapless gown adorned with shades of pink floral appliqués.
If you’re experiencing déjà vu, it might be because this gown bears a striking resemblance to the blue Balenciaga Haute Couture gown she wore to the Kering Foundation’s Second Annual Caring for Women Dinner in September 2023.
However, between those times, Nicole and Balenciaga have mostly served us a string of black column gowns. So, I was delighted to see something different, something lighter, something fresher emerge from this collaboration.
We’ve had plenty to say about Nicole’s hair and makeup this year, with her Gotham Awards beauty look facing the most criticism. But I doubt those same comments will be made here. Her hair is perfectly styled, and her makeup complements the rosy tones of the gown’s floral embellishments, giving her an ethereal glow that mirrors the dress itself.
This is a 10 out of 10 look for Nicole. Truly, she has had one of her best red carpet years in recent memory, and for that, we can thank Jason Bolden.
It’s not just the dress—it’s the execution, the styling, the beauty look, and the confidence she exudes while wearing it. Nicole Kidman and Balenciaga are a partnership that many weren’t on board with, but let’s be honest, and this is yet another example of why they work so well together.
