Warning: Spoilers for Yellowstone season 5 ahead.
After five seasons, the neo-Western TV series Yellowstone has come to an end with an epic two-hour finale.
ICYMI, the series followed the story of the Dutton family, who control the largest ranch in the US. It starred Kelly Reilly, Kevin Costner, Taylor Sheridan, Luke Grimes, Wes Bentley, and many more amazing actors over the years, and we’re sad to see it go.
In the lead-up to the show’s finale, we saw one of John Dutton’s sons, Jamie, and his girlfriend pay an agency to kill John and make it look like suicide. Their plan was to then sell the family ranch.
But another problem arose—the siblings (including Beth and Kayce, who are at this point “at war” with Jamie for what he did) cannot pay the inheritance tax on the ranch.
Here’s what you need to know about the Yellowstone ending, including the spin-off that’s already in the works.
The Yellowstone ending explained
The final episode of Yellowstone’s season five—titled “Life Is a Promise”—shows the funeral of John Dutton (Kevin Costner), the family’s patriarch.
