As you know, I wasn’t sold on Ayo Edebiri’s Golden Globes look which didn’t quite hit the mark for me. But this Commission Spring 2025 ‘Jitsu’ dress wore to the Deadline 2025 Sundance Film Festival Studio, where she was promoting her new film, OPUS? I’m all in.
Sundance is not the place for your typical glitzy, high-octane fashion moments. It’s Utah, it’s snowing, and I’m here for practicality with a side of quirk—and Ayo delivered exactly that. This tracksuit-inspired ‘Jitsu’ dress from the NYC-based label strikes the perfect balance between sporty and stylish. If you saw her in Utah you would be wondering if she was headed to a photo call or gearing up to shred some fresh powder? The duality is everything.
And let’s talk about the styling. That dress, paired with a turtleneck and white boots is giving me life. On paper, the boots shouldn’t work, but somehow, they do. The look feels fun, modern, and effortlessly cool. It’s the kind of outfit that sits perfectly in Ayo’s fashion wheelhouse.
For those who’ve critiqued Ayo’s sometimes awkward posing, it’s not evident here. She looks relaxed and completely in her element. The confidence radiates, and it makes the outfit shine even more.
I can’t stop gushing as this might just be my one of my favourite looks from Ayo. It’s fresh, unexpected, and perfect for Sundance.
