Grey may not be the most exciting colour in the fashion spectrum, but every so often, someone comes along and makes me reconsider everything. Enter Britt Lower, who stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last week in New York City looking effortlessly cool in an Emilia Wickstead Spring 2025 shirt and trouser set.
Now, at first glance, this might seem like your standard menswear-inspired ensemble, but look closer, and you’ll spot the genius at play. What appears to be a simple placketless shirt is actually a knotless tie—proof that even the most traditional pieces can be reimagined with a fresh, modern twist. And that’s exactly what Britt is serving here: a perfect blend of masculine tailoring and feminine nonchalance.
Styled with crisp white Scarosso boots and a pair of round sunglasses, the look leans into a retro-meets-futuristic aesthetic that feels entirely her own. The balance between structure and ease is what makes this work—nothing about it feels try-hard, yet every detail is deliberate.
It’s always fun to see actors translate the energy of their on-screen roles into real-life fashion moments, and Britt’s Severance-esque, subtly rebellious approach to tailoring is right on brand. A little unconventional, a little mysterious, and totally unforgettable.
Season two of Severance is now streaming on Apple TV+, but if you ask me, this outfit alone deserves its own feature-length episode.
