Condé Nast Takes Over Vogue Arabia and GQ Middle East from Licensees

Vogue Arabia and GQ Middle East have become part of Condé Nast’s owned portfolio operations in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Previously published under a license agreement with local partners Nervora and ITP Media respectively, the magazines join Architectural Digest (AD) Middle East and Condé Nast Traveller Middle East which have been owned and operated ventures since 2023.

Condé Nast has appointed Amine Jreissati as head of editorial content at the regional edition of GQ and confirmed that Manuel Arnaut will continue to lead Vogue Arabia under the new structure. Arnaut, who previously served as editor-in-chief, has been named head of editorial content in line with most of his counterparts at the publisher’s other international editions.

“We are fortunate that Manuel and Amine, two incredibly gifted and creative editors, will be leading our titles. Their taste, judgment and journalistic experience are a huge benefit and the way they have elevated the contributions of artists and designers in the Middle East to the global stage has been tremendous,” said Anna Wintour, chief content officer of Condé Nast, in a statement.

At the helm of Vogue since 2017, Arnaut has more than 15 years of experience in media, previously holding senior positions at AD Middle East, where he oversaw the launch of the magazine in 2015 as editor-in-chief. He started his career with Vogue Portugal and GQ Portugal.

Jreissati most recently worked at Vogue Arabia as fashion director. Previously, he spent nearly a decade as a stylist for titles in the region including SavoirFlair, Marie Claire Arabia and Sorbet. In 2017, he launched his own fashion label Boyfriend. Jreissati’s appointment follows the exit of Ahmad Swaid, who was editor-in-chief of GQ Middle East prior to joining Dazed MENA, the new Middle East and North Africa edition of Dazed magazine.

The transition of Vogue Arabia and GQ Middle East from license partnerships to owned operations was led by Thomas Khoury, Condé Nast’s Middle East managing director.
