Renée Zellweger returned to where it all began—London—for the world premiere of Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square this evening, and this time, she brought back her signature strapless gown after a brief one-shoulder detour in Paris. Order has been restored.
In a moment of perfect fashion synergy, Renée stepped out in a vintage Pierre Balmain Haute Couture Fall 2000 evening gown in a striking rose hue. Given the ongoing trend of fashion houses delving into their archives, it’s no surprise to see her embrace a piece that serves up an old Hollywood glamour feel.
Now, I know her last look didn’t exactly set the internet on fire, but let’s be real—London was always going to get the best look. This is Bridget Jones territory, after all.
Renée has long been a lover of bold hues (that yellow Carolina Herrera dress lives rent free in my head), so seeing her in this vibrant shade felt like a return to form. The silhouette was classic yet commanding, the kind of elegance that never feels overdone.
But then… the shoes happened.
Magenta? For this dress? The colour feels too dark, and too distracting. A tonal match would have been sublime, but instead, my eyes keep drifting downward.
As for hair and makeup? Predictably effortless. Tousled locks, fresh-faced beauty—Renée knows what works for her.
Final verdict? This was the most unexpected, expected look she could have given us—and I love it… from the ankles up.
And let’s also note that there is not a single crease in sight.
