Adèle Exarchopoulos graced the 2025 César Film Awards red carpet at L’Olympia in Paris, bringing a touch of futuristic edge in a custom Courrèges strapless dress. Inspired by the Spring 2025 collection, this look had all the makings of a modern fashion moment—but did it land?
If this dress feels familiar, that’s because we’ve seen it before—well, at least from the side. Rachel Zegler donned a white version (with a single strap) at the New York Theatre Workshop Gala last month. The illusion panel holding everything together is the same, but here’s where things get tricky.

Let’s call it like it is: this design was not created with well-endowed women in mind. The alignment feels slightly off from the front, and that’s because the structure seems to favour those in the small cup club. It’s a classic case of a great concept not quite adapting to reality, which is a shame considering this was a custom piece. Surely a few adjustments could have been made to ensure a flawless fit?
That being said, Adèle still looked gorgeous. She brought her signature cool-girl energy, and Bvlgari jewels added just the right amount of sparkle. But when a dress is designed to defy gravity, it needs to be working with the wearer, not against her.
