Beyonce wins Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter at the Grammys

Beyonce made history at the 2025 Grammy Awards, winning Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter—a groundbreaking celebration of the Black roots of country music. Notably, this win makes her the first Black woman to take home the honour since Lauryn Hill’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill in 1999.

Now, before we get into the fashion, let’s be real—none of us were expecting Bey to walk the red carpet. She hasn’t done that in years. But what we weren’t expecting was the Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown she chose to wear backstage and to collect her award to be so…awful.

First, the colour. It does absolutely nothing for her skin tone, and that platinum blonde hair continues to be thorn in her side. It’s completely washes her out—especially under the harsh backstage lighting.

Then, there’s the fit. Specifically, the bust, which is comically off for what was definitely a custom design. And the gloves? Too predictable at this point.

I understand that the embroidery had a country-inspired theme, but this look completely missed the mark on so many levels. Beyonce’s Renaissance tour wardrobe was an absolute serve, but when it comes to her red carpet style? The struggle continues.
