Ahead of this weekend’s BAFTA Awards, dunhill hosted The Filmmakers Dinner in celebration of BAFTA Elevate.
Held at The Club at Bourdon House—the home of dunhill in London—this elegant affair brought together some of Britain’s finest talents, both in front of and behind the camera. Naturally, the evening called for impeccable tailoring, but not everyone got the memo…
A Rare Miss
I hold Regé-Jean Page’s style in the highest regard. He’s easily one of the top 10 best-dressed men in Hollywood. But this dunhill suit? I don’t like anything about it. The biggest issue is the length of the trousers—they’re far too long, even after he attempted to turn them up. A rare miss from Regé-Jean, and frankly, I’m going to need some time to recover from this.

Almost There
I think I could have been on board with Aidan Turner’s dunhill look if he had ditched the ivory scarf and swapped the ivory bow tie for one that matched the copper hue of his blazer. The foundation was solid, but those styling choices distracted from an otherwise great ensemble.

Saving the Day
Phew. David Harewood in this classic dunhill black tuxedo is single-handedly rescuing this red carpet. A masterclass in timeless elegance.

Team Classic
Alex Hassell also understood the assignment, wearing a black dunhill velvet tuxedo with a contrasting shawl collar. Between him and David, the case for simple black tuxedos remains unshakable.

The right balance
Looking at Henry Golding’s dunhill shawl-collar suit, I wouldn’t be surprised if Regé-Jean was quietly regretting his trouser choice. Henry played it safe and won.

Regency Gent with a Twist
Pierce Brosnan delivered full Regency-era gentleman realness in a dunhill tux styled with a white waistcoat—if only it weren’t for those tinted glasses. A bold accessory choice, but I wish he’d left them at home.

Blink and You’ll Miss It
There were some ladies in attendance, but Ellie Bamber’s suit blended so seamlessly into the step-and-repeat that you might not have noticed her at all.

Colour, Finally
Thankfully, Jessica Brown-Findlay stood out in her pink dress—not just because it was one of the few splashes of colour in the room, but also thanks to the bold red accents in her sandals and veiled headband. A much-needed moment of vibrancy after Regé-Jean dimmed my enthusiasm.
