Colman Domingo is a ‘70s dream at the Critics' Circle Film Awards

Fresh from the front rows of Paris Fashion Week, Colman Domingo hopped on the Eurostar to London for the 2025 London Critics’ Circle Film Awards held at The May Fair Hotel this evening, where he presented Zoe Saldana with The Derek Malcolm Award. But, as always, Colman wasn’t just attending—he was serving.

Much like Lewis Hamilton, Colman has been stepping deeper into Black dandyism as he gears up for his co-chairing duties at the 2025 Met Gala. And tonight? It was all on full display in an AMIRI Fall 2025 look that felt like a masterclass in retro-modern swagger.

Let’s talk about these flares. The cut is impeccable, creating that perfect ‘70s-meets-2025 silhouette. Then there’s the colour palette: a rich autumnal plum leather jacket, a silky brown shirt, and a yellow tie that adds just the right amount of playful contrast. This isn’t just a look—it’s a vibe.  A whole mood.

If you weren’t convinced by his Valentino moment, I’m certain this one will have you nodding in agreement. And let’s not forget the accessories. The tinted shades bring the mystery, the green croc embossed clutch adds a fresh pop, and Colman himself ties it all together with that signature effortless charm.

For me, this is hands down his best look of the year so far. He’s oozing charisma, evoking ‘70s cool while keeping it fresh, modern, and undeniably Colman. Met Gala co-chair mode: activated.
