Colman Domingo Wore Balmain To The 2025 Costume Designers Guild Awards

If you thought it was impossible for Colman Domingo to outdo his red carpet looks from 2024, well, we’re only six weeks into 2025, and he’s already proving us wrong. Task completed.

Just when I was starting to feel a little fatigued by Balmain’s signature military blazers, Colman swooped in and gave us a whole new perspective. Attending the 2025 Costume Designers Guild Awards, he wore a Pre-Fall 2025 embroidered jacket featuring striking gold leaf lapels, and suddenly, the Balmain aesthetic felt fresh again.

But, of course, he didn’t stop there. Colman styled the jacket with the matching silk shirt (because why settle for less?) and an eye-catching lock pendant belt that gave this look an extra edge. This wasn’t just a sharp suit—it was a full-on fashion moment, reminding us all why he’s the leader in men’s fashion right now.

And can we take a second to acknowledge the fact that this man has served up two BDOTY-worthy looks in the span of a single week? How?

Balmain santiag-glazed leather ankle boots rounded out the ensemble, ensuring that every detail was as intentional as it was immaculate.

At this point, I’m counting down the days until the Met Gala because if Colman is already delivering this level of excellence in February, I can’t even begin to imagine what he’ll bring to fashion’s biggest night.
