If you were to ask me what the perfect Film Independent Spirit Awards outfit looks like—keeping in mind that the event is held in Santa Monica, right by the beach—I would simply point to Hunter Schafer.
The Euphoria actress made her first red carpet appearance of the year at the annual event in a floral Prada Spring 2025 dress, bursting with sunny shades of yellow, green, and orange. It’s summertime in a dress, and I can’t think of a better vibe for this laid-back, oceanside ceremony.
But, of course, this wouldn’t be a Prada runway look without a few quirks, and here, they come in the form of the tied, protruding, angled-off-the-shoulder straps. They add that signature Prada offbeat charm—whether you love them or not.
Now, let’s talk about the shoes. Hunter paired the dress with pink and grey Prada Spring 2025 sandals, which you will believe don’t complement the dress, or you’re feeling an oddly specific wave of nostalgia. If it’s the latter, you’re not alone. There’s something distinctly 2012 about them, and honestly? That nostalgia might just be saving them.
Overall, this look is fresh, playful, and perfectly suited to the Spirit Awards’ breezy, relaxed nature. Even with the quirky details (or maybe because of them), Hunter nailed this look.
