Kerry Washington is kicking off our coverage of the 2025 SAG Awards, and may the fashion gods forgive me for what I am about to say.
The actress stepped onto the red carpet in an Armani Privé rose gold gown featuring a lace bodice, a satin skirt, and a sheer overlay embroidered with crystal and pearl beading. Sounds dreamy, right? Unfortunately, the execution left me… disappointed.
I don’t like it.
I don’t like it at all.
The high neckline isn’t doing her any favours, the fit of the bodice is unexpectedly unflattering, and—perhaps the most tragic part—this entire look ages her. Kerry is usually hit and miss, but will usually hit for the big occasion, but this? This is missing the mark in a way that I haven’t seen from her in a long time.
The only saving grace about this entire look? The rose gold hue is undeniably gorgeous. But a pretty colour alone isn’t enough to salvage this miss. Here’s hoping Kerry gives us a redemption moment at her next event.
