Laufey brings soft romance to the TIME Women of the Year Gala

Jazz musician Laufey took center stage at the TIME Women of the Year Gala at The West Hollywood EDITION on Tuesday, and while her music undoubtedly enchanted the crowd, her outfit played its own melodic tune.

Laufey has mastered the art of blending vintage charm with modern elegance, and her Chanel Pre-Fall 2025 ensemble—a white pleated blouse and asymmetrical skirt—was the epitome of her signature soft, romantic aesthetic. It struck a balance between classic and contemporary influences, making it a perfect fit for the evening.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: Why those shoes?

Listen, I’ve made my peace with Chanel’s footwear choices. I’ve come to expect to be underwhelmed, and these black shoes paired with a white outfit and a white Chanel quilted clutch are just another example of that ongoing saga.

If this blouse is giving you a mild case of déjà vu, that’s because Pamela Anderson wore the same top with pleated trousers just last month when both she and Laufey attended the Chanel Spring 2025 Haute Couture show in Paris.

So, what do we think? A dreamy look slightly let down by the shoes, or does Laufey’s ethereal presence make it all work?
