Nicole Kidman was honoured at the TIME Women Of The Year Leadership Forum in West Hollywood, California on Tuesday, recognised for her unwavering support of female directors and her advocacy for gender equity in the film industry.
I had to check my calendar to make sure it wasn’t September, because this Miu Miu Spring 2025 navy blazer, crisp white shirt, and dual-colour pleated skirt is giving me major back-to-school energy in the best possible way.
Now, that doesn’t mean that I feel that this look is too twee for her. Quite the opposite. It feels fresh, polished, and like a sartorial reset—kind of like cracking open a brand-new notebook at the start of a school year. And speaking of fresh starts, her hair and makeup are also working overtime to reinforce this feeling. The soft waves and natural glam are a subtle but powerful nod to a lighter, breezier Nicole.
As much as I am a sandals devotee through and through, I can’t shake the thought that this look would have been even better with a pair of burgundy (or navy) heeled loafers. The academic, autumnal aesthetic just begs for something a little more grounded, don’t you think?
Or would that have taken this look from cute preppy to fashion-forward headmistress?
