Renée Zellweger Wore Maison Margiela The ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy’ Rome Photocall

Following the premiere in Amsterdam, the Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy press tour has officially landed in Rome, with Renée Zellweger attending a photocall at Hotel De La Ville this afternoon.

But let’s get straight to the real headline here: Renée and her ongoing shoulder agenda.

This time, she wore a tailored strapless top/sleeveless jacket hybrid from Maison Margiela, layered under a striped sleeveless top. But because this is Renée we’re talking about, she wasn’t about to let a regular top stand in the way of her signature styling trick. Naturally, she turned it into a one-shoulder moment. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if her stylist, Petra Flannery, has “one-shoulder” set as a Google Alert.

However, despite my admiration for Renée’s commitment to this aesthetic, I have to admit—this is my least favourite look of the press tour so far. The dealbreaker? That brown leather belt tied with a black ribbon. It’s giving “random” and “I ran out of time and grabbed whatever was lying around,” which is very un-Renée. Usually, her style feels meticulous, but the ribbon detail makes this look feel unfinished.

While I applaud the consistency, I’m hoping for a stronger sartorial showing at her next stop. The shoulder can stay, of course—but let’s refine the details.
