Zoe Saldana Wore Maison Margiela Haute Couture To The 2025 NAACP Image Awards

Zoe Saldana has been on a Maison Margiela by John Galliano streak this awards season, serving avant-garde elegance at the 2025 Costume Designers Guild Awards and the Critics’ Circle Film Awards. But did her latest look at the NAACP Image Awards continue her winning streak?

This time, Zoe opted for a playful shades-of-grey dress featuring oversized polka dots, cascading ruffles down the side, and a dramatic bustle at the back. It had all the hallmarks of Galliano’s signature theatricality, but something about it didn’t quite land as effortlessly as her previous outings in the label.

Some might argue that this look hasn’t stood the test of time in comparison to her last two Margiela moments, and honestly, I’m kinda on the fence. While I appreciate the whimsy of the design, the colour leaves me a little underwhelmed—it lacks the vibrancy or depth that could have made this dress sing. And then there’s the shoe situation. Zoe paired the look with black Christian Louboutin x Maison Margiela Tabi pumps, but they appear slightly too big, which is distracting.

I love that Zoe’s embracing Margiela’s artistry with such consistency. But this time, the magic isn’t quite there for me.
