I was going to save Matt Bomer’s first look for the menswear roundup, but he just kept on serving, so a solo spotlight was the only fitting tribute. As he promotes his new TV series, Mid-Century Modern, Matt has delivered not one, not two, but four standout looks this week—with an undeniable theme tying them all together: shades of blue, bringing his run in rich plums and burgundy to an end.
LA Premiere
The actor was elegance personified, serving up sartorial staples in a Caruso blue suit paired with a navy shirt. This is the epitome of contemporary sophistication—clean, polished, and effortlessly refined. Finishing touches came in the form of a Jaeger-LeCoultre timepiece and John Hardy jewels. I love how the look is both understated yet impactful. At this point, I thought this was going to be my favourite look… but then The View happened.

The View
I know. I’m swooning over this one too. At first glance, I assumed Matt’s baby blue Dzojchen suit was velvet, but the label revealed it has a suede finish—taking the look to another level. This subtle textural detail brings a dynamic aesthetic, revitalising tailoring while still maintaining a classic essence. I love how the unbuttoned pale peach shirt adds to the softening of the look, giving it that breezy, effortless charm. My only (tiny) wish? A lighter-coloured shoe would have been the icing on the cake. But does it dampen my enthusiasm? Not in the slightest.

The View Exit
Matt’s love letter to blue continued as he made a stylish exit from The View in a Thom Sweeney chambray shirt and denim jeans. But the real star? The Ralph Lauren Collection leather trench coat. It elevated the look entirely, adding a luxurious edge that kept the look from feeling too casual. Blue-tinted glasses from Moscot sealed the deal, proving once again that Matt understands the power of coordinated styling.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
The final look of the night was from Brioni. Some might argue this veers more into grey territory, but I’m standing firm—this is a steel blue, and no, I’m not just saying that to keep the theme going. As I mentioned with Seth Rogen’s linen suit earlier this week, linen season is upon us. And while this outfit felt like the most formal of the four (thanks to the tie), it still carried the same easy elegance that has defined this press tour.

From deep navy to baby blue, Matt Bomer has made a strong case for tonal dressing. The variety of textures, from sleek tailoring to soft suede, ensured each look felt distinct while maintaining a cohesive narrative. His elegance, charm, and impeccable styling choices have made this one of the strongest menswear runs of the year so far.
