Cate Blanchett Wore Givenchy For The 'Black Bag' New York Premiere

Sarah Burton’s Givenchy Fall 2025 collection is still fresh out of the oven, and Cate Blanchett has already served herself two helpings. That, my friends, is what you call a ride or die.

After giving us a sneak peek at The Seagull Press Night in London, the Australian actress wasted no time in securing the first post-show look for the Black Bag New York premiere on Monday. And what a look it was.

The Givenchy Fall 2025 black leather double-zipped shawl collar couture bomber, paired with a kickback pencil skirt and a leather corset belt, was one of the strongest moments from the collection. It was bold, it was structured, has a commanding energy, and perfectly on theme for a film title: Black Bag. What felt edgy and almost rebellious on the runway took on a whole new life in Cate’s hands—more refined, more regal, and exactly the kind of power dressing we expect from her.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t been completely obsessed with Cate’s recent red carpet choices, but this is her at her absolute best. The Givenchy black latex boots (thankfully without the distracting patch label) rounded out a look that was sleek, sharp, and unmistakably Cate, and much improved on the first outing.
