Doja Cat in Balmain for the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Olivier Rousteing of Balmain never shies away from making a statement, and for the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, three of the four celebrities took to the carpet in custom creations that screamed craftsmanship and opulence.

If Balmain made an Oscar statue

Following her first Balmain look for the main event, Doja Cat kept the gilded goddess energy going in a second custom strapless Balmain fringed gown, inspired by the Oscar statue but reimagined in the female form. The silhouette was deeply connected to the Balmain Resort 2025 collection, which featured a similar trompe-l’oeil crystal technique in blue—worn by Gigi Hadid—but here, Balmain used nine different gold shades in a degradé effect to create a statuesque, Renaissance-inspired body. Yeprem jewelry completed her look.

A grand return to the red carpet

Lil Nas X made his red carpet comeback in a Balmain tuxedo featuring a cropped jacket accented with arm cuffs and a belt in pink gold. This was the perfect way for him to reintroduce himself—not too OTT, but enough to turn heads, and stand out in a sea of standard tuxedos. It was classic, but with just the right dose of Lil Nas X flair.

A couture dream come true

Imaan Hammam looked like an actual dream in her custom Balmain dress made entirely of hand-embroidered gold feathers. The attention to detail was staggering—each feather individually foiled with gold, then cut to shape and size, requiring a total of 520 hours of artisanal craftsmanship. The shoes could’ve been stronger, but honestly, the dress is so breathtaking that it almost doesn’t matter. Almost.

Rachel Sennott hasn’t been in the spotlight long, and she already looks like she’s over it. This Balmain Pre-Fall 2025 velvet bustier dress is giving I just threw this on and left the house.

Balmain brought the drama, the detail, and the decadence. But whose look was your favourite?
