The house of Chanel dressed five celebrities for the Le Grand Dîner Du Louvre which took place in Paris on Tuesday. Let’s dive into the looks that graced the grand halls of the Louvre.
A couture classic
Keira Knightley, the definition of a Chanel woman, wore a Chanel Fall 2024 Haute Couture long petticoated dress featuring a black silk velvet embroidered bustier and an organza peplum flounce that added a touch of drama. Some might take issue with the white layer under the black skirt, and usually, I would too, but considering how dark it is, that layer adds depth to the look, ensuring it doesn’t disappear into the darkness. A Chanel clutch, Comète Couture necklace, and other Chanel High Jewelry pieces completed her look.

Erm…
Naomi Campbell will always be the supermodel, but her red carpet choices remain unpredictable. She wore a Chanel black dress from the Métiers d’Art 2005/2006 collection, draped in an oversized fuchsia satin double-faille coat from the Chanel Fall 2024 Haute Couture collection. I do love the look, but it felt more suited to Helen Mirren’s regal red carpet playbook. It’s chic, yes, but it lacks that Naomi factor—the sharp, slinky, supermodel essence I was craving, but I guess it is suited to the nature of the event. Chanel High Jewelry completed her look.

A couture fairytale with a feathered flourish
While most played it safe, Rebecca Marder embraced true Haute Couture fantasy. As a Chanel Ambassador, she had access to the best, and she did not disappoint in a floral jacquard dress overlaid with pale pink tulle, featuring multi-coloured accents and dramatic balloon sleeves fully embroidered with feathers from the Spring 2025 Haute Couture collection. It was whimsical, romantic, and delightfully unexpected at this event. Chanel High Jewelry completed her magical moment.

Elegant? Yes. Exciting? Not quite
Honestly, I expected more from Charlotte Casiraghi. This white satin bustier dress from the Chanel Spring 2016 Haute Couture collection was undoubtedly elegant, but it lacked impact. The styling didn’t help either—the black Chanel shoes felt uninspired. Chanel High Jewelry sparkled, but even diamonds couldn’t fully elevate this look. I wish she had worn the runway bolero.

Parisian cool, no notes
Caroline de Maigret stayed true to her effortless Parisian aesthetic in a Chanel black glittered suit. Simple, sharp, and accessorized to perfection with Chanel pieces—it was classic Chanel nonchalance at its best.
