The house of Chanel had a strong presence at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, dressing three celebrities in looks that ranged from the unexpected to the quintessentially Chanel.
Red satin rebellion
Fair play to Margaret Qualley for keeping us on our toes. On Oscar night, we were bracing ourselves for yet another white coat dress or ballerina-inspired frock, but surprised us not only with her dress for the main event, but also with this custom red satin dress embellished with a trompe-l’oeil brooch. Inspired by the Chanel Fall/Winter 1989 ready-to-wear collection, this look is hopefully a sign that a new era of style is upon her.

And I pray that’s the case—Margaret is stunning, and we want more fashion moments like this from her. Chanel High Jewelry provided the finishing touch.

A graceful pearl moment
I’m sure many of you will agree that this Chanel Spring 2025 Haute Couture gown, embroidered with black and white gradient pearls and shoulders adorned with delicate white and ivory organza flowers, was Lupita Nyong’o’s best look of the night.

She looks ever so graceful here, exuding elegance and poise. But as breathtaking as this is, I’m still holding out hope for that bold colour moment from her.

A born Chanel girl
Lily-Rose Depp is one of those brand ambassadors who can make anything from the collection feel like it was designed just for her. This Chanel Spring 2024 Haute Couture crop top and long petticoated skirt is a prime example. She and her stylist either have impeccable taste, or—more likely—she was simply born to wear Chanel. Chanel High Jewelry completed her look.

Three very different interpretations of Chanel, and yet, all undeniably chic.
