Looking back on awards season always brings mixed emotions. On one hand, there’s the sadness that it’s all over—the red carpets rolled up, and the couture back in the archives. On the other hand, I can finally reclaim my sleep schedule, which has been held hostage by late-night (local time) live coverage and early-morning excitement finish off the left overs from the night before.
Now, let’s talk about the star of this season. No surprises here—Colman Domingo dominated. Even if Timothée Chalamet had truly stepped up to the plate (which, let’s be honest, he didn’t), Colman was untouchable. The man is on fire, and his awards season run was the perfect blend of sophistication, boldness, and pure fashion. Every look was a moment.
One person you won’t see on my favourites list, but who deserves her flowers, is Mikey Madison. She was the breakout star of awards season, effortlessly making a name for herself and serving understated look. It reminds me of how we first took notice of Sandra Hüller the year before. Which begs the question—who will be the Mikey Madison of 2026? If history tells us anything, we should be watching closely at Cannes this year to find out.
