Gwendoline Christie Prada Spring 2025 dress grey opera leather gloves 'Severance' PaleyFest LA Screening

To say we’ve been sceptical about Prada’s Spring 2025 harness skirts would be an understatement. It’s been a journey. A struggle, even. But just when we were ready to write them off completely, Ruth Negga stepped in and changed the narrative. And now, Gwendoline Christie has done the same—well, almost.

Attending the Severance screening at PaleyFest LA 2025, Gwendoline gave us what is arguably the most refined version of Prada’s divisive harness-adorned pieces. The black and navy midi dress was structured, sleek, and sophisticated, proving that this particular design can work. Adding a pop of contrast, her yellow and silver toe-cap pumps brought just the right amount of unexpected flair. So far, so fabulous.

And then… the gloves happened.

Look, if anyone can channel old Hollywood elegance with opera gloves, it’s Gwendoline. But these? They were a mismatch on every level. The colour was off, the fit was way too loose (baggy gloves are my personal nightmare), and they served no real purpose here. If anything, they distracted from what could have been a Best Dressed of the Week contender.

Take away the gloves, and this look would have been flawless. With them? It’s an almost moment.
