Isabela Merced is currently in Sydney, Australia, promoting season two of the post-apocalyptic The Last of Us, and she made quite the fashion statement today at the Park Hyatt.
I’m sure you instantly recognised her Diesel Spring 2025 eco-leather Prince of Wales check dress with its integrated extra-long fringing, as Shaboozey rocked a custom fringed jacket designed creative director Glenn Martens to the Grammys this year.
This dress is already a head-turner, but Isabela decided to put her own spin on it swiping the dramatic fringing over one shoulder, transforming the look into an asymmetrical moment. A clever move? Absolutely. But does it work better than the runway styling?
Personally, I think the original styling—with the fringe wrapped around the neck—is more practical, keeping those wild strands in place. I can’t help but feel that Isabela’s arm placement is strategic, possibly to prevent them from slipping off her shoulder completely.
What do you think? Either way, I love how she made it her own. Classic with simple black pumps let the dress do all the talking.
