Ncuti Gatwa is giving us a fashion tour de force in New York while promoting the latest season of Doctor Who, and I, for one, am here for every single moment. It’s been a while since we’ve seen an actor commit to the multi-look press junket spectacle—Michael B. Jordan’s Creed III tour was the last time we were truly fed—but Ncuti has single handedly revived the art.
Empire State Building
Monday’s rainy Manhattan weather was no match for Ncuti’s commitment to fashion. The actor stepped out in a Simone Rocha denim jacket traced with crystal embellishments, arranged like a vine of flowers outlining the collar. He could have gown with the jeans from this collection, but the turned-up shorts added a playful touch, and the white turtleneck underneath grounded the look perfectly. Add in the oxford shoes with crisp white socks, and we’ve got ourselves a textbook case of boyish charm at its finest.

Hotel Exit
This is the one. This is my favourite look. Ncuti stepped out in an Etro Fall 2025 ensemble that screamed luxury, drama, and dandyism. If Anna Wintour isn’t paying attention, she should be. The gold jacquard trousers push this into BDOTY territory. Styled with a brown wool coat and a sleek grey top, this look oozed effortless opulence. But the pièce de résistance? The brown Etro Vela leather bag. Everything about this look is perfection, and I could write a dissertation on why it works, even the red lining on the coat is sending me.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
For his Tonight Show debut, Ncuti dialled up the drama—because he always leaves enough room to go up a level—in a Valentino Pre-Fall 2025 velvet embroidered jacket, ruffled collar shirt, and tan trousers that felt like something plucked from the most decadent period drama.

Now, as you know, my list of people who can truly sell Alessandro Michele’s Valentino vision is very short. But Ncuti? He just earned a spot. This look was theatrical in the best way possible—giving a hint of old-world aristocratic flair with a modern edge. And let’s not ignore the black and white trimmed shoes with red laces added the final flourish of eccentricity. It’s a lot, but Ncuti wears it with such conviction that it all just works.
From playful to opulent to theatrical, Ncuti has showcased a versatility that is rare in menswear, all while injecting his signature charm into every look.
Now, let’s start that petition to get him on the Met Gala guest list, because this level of sartorial excellence needs a bigger stage.
