Zoe Saldana

Saldaña wore a similar animal-inspired Cartier necklace to the César awards on February 28. That piece was a gold choker in the shape of a tiger’s head, with a playful paw peeking out from under his little, jewel-encrusted chin.

Zoe Saldaña, at the Oscars 2025, won the Best Supporting Actress award for (the controversy-laden) Emilia Perez, in which she played Rita, an overworked lawyer who helps a former cartel boss, Emilia, with her transition. Years later, Rita and Emilia meet again in London, and Rita and Emilia become friends and partners.

In her acceptance speech, Saldaña thanked her mother, who was in the audience, first of all. She continued, “I am the first American of Dominican origin to accept an Academy Award, and I know I will not be the last! I hope the fact that I’m getting an award for a role where I got to sing and speak in Spanish—my grandmother, if she were here, she would be so delighted.”
