It’s Oscar night—the grand finale of awards season, the night where Zoe Saldana is widely expected to take home that gold statue for Emilia Pérez. A career-defining moment, no doubt. But was her dress just as defining?
After weeks of nothing but Saint Laurent black, we all had one simple request: give us something different. And on that front, Anthony Vaccarello delivered. Gone is the black, replaced by a stunning burgundy hue that flatters her beautifully. But the silhouette? That’s where things get tricky.
I’ll be honest—I had to sit with this one for a while. It wasn’t the knockout I expected for such a monumental night. The Cartier necklace, in particular, feels like an unnecessary distraction. And the more I think about it, the more I wish she had saved her SAG Awards dress for tonight and swapped them around.
While this is a gorgeous look, I don’t believe it’s the right one for tonight.
