If Liu Yifei’s Best Dressed of the Week win has taught us anything, it’s that spring has officially sprung on the red carpet—and Ariana DeBose clearly got the memo. Stepping out for The Entertainment Community Fund 2025 Gala at the Marriott Marquis in New York City, Ariana traded in her usual sharp tailoring (fresh in our minds from the Ralph Lauren Fall 2025 show) for something altogether softer and more seasonally spirited.
Wearing a chamomile yellow Stella McCartney halterneck dress, Ariana radiated sunshine. Yes, the shade is instantly recognisable—it’s the same soft yellow that we saw on Connie Nielsen. With that crystal chain neckline catching the light just right, this was a moment that said “gala” without veering into ballgown territory.
As you know, I’m a world-class nitpicker, and as gorgeous as that chamomile yellow is against her skin tone, my eyes went straight to the hemline.
The stitching isn’t a dealbreaker by any means—and I get that she was going for a more relaxed vibe with the shorter length rather than full gala gown glamour—but I can’t help but wish her tailor had gone for the cleaner, smoother finish you get with a fusible web. However, it’s a minor detail as this was a gorgeous choice for the occasion and a clear sign that Ariana is leaning into spring.
