Caitriona Balfe continued her The Amateur press tour in New York, hoping to turn the fashion tide after her yellow Louis Vuitton look in London left many of you… let’s say, underwhelmed. Last night she stepped onto the red carpet in sheer lace and high-waisted briefs. Risky move, considering how much the majority of you dislike the “revealing underwear” trend.
But let’s give credit where it’s due. This Maria McManus Fall 2025 mock-neck lace dress is beautifully delicate, and Caitriona wears it as best she can. The earrings? Stunning. The black shoes? A much stronger choice this time around. The red lip? It adds a much-needed pop of drama, elevating the whole look.
That said, for a world premiere, this doesn’t quite deliver that knockout, A-list moment. It feels more like a strong press tour look rather than a headline-making red carpet slay. Perhaps it’s the simplicity of the dress, or maybe I will always expected something a little grander for a world premiere.
So, while Caitriona avoids a fashion misstep, she also doesn’t quite land a showstopper.
