Chloë Sevigny, our undisputed queen of winter chic, just reminded everyone that she’s also the empress of downtown spring energy. While promoting her new film Magic Farm—which already made its red carpet rounds at Sundance and the Berlin Film Festival—Chloë gave us a fashion moment in New York that was a love letter to her roots.
Gone were the oversized faux furs she reigned in all winter, replaced with a look from the Vaquera Spring 2025 collection that felt like downtown DIY chaos at its finest. It was rebellious, playful, and absolutely perfect on her. A cropped tracksuit top thrown over a bodysuit, a graphic scarf knotted into a makeshift skirt, and all of it radiating an “I just rolled out of a dive bar and into a Vogue editorial” kind of energy. This wasn’t try-hard—it was Chloë just being Chloë.
The attitude sold it. You need a certain kind of street-honed cool to wear this sort of deconstruction. It’s not meant to be “pretty” or “elevated.” It’s meant to disrupt, which is exactly what Chloë has always done best.
Where was this Chloë in 2024? Because this is the Chloë I fell in love with—the one who could wear anything and make it feel instantly iconic.
She finished the look with red leather peep-toe mules.
Long live downtown’s reigning style anarchist. I am so gagged.
