Julia Fox isn’t exactly a regular feature around here — mostly because belts-as-bras tend to prioritise shock over substance. But at the Fashion Trust U.S. Awards, I genuinely paused. This wasn’t about clickbait. This felt like a look with a concept, a fashion thesis, if you will. And I was intrigued.
Her Marni Spring 2025 back-to-front dress featured a flounce hem and a moody Iris red and black rose print that instantly evoked My Fair Lady energy. Add in the oversized black hat, and suddenly I was getting avant-garde Eliza Doolittle meets modern-day downtown muse.

Now, onto the makeup. Sure, some might shout Ronald McDonald, but this was no clownery. It was high-camp homage to John Waters’ legendary muse, Divine. From the geometric, ultra-arched brows to the hyper-blushed cheeks, the firetruck red lips, and of course, Divine’s signature beauty spot — this was character work. The eyes? Drag-level drama with eyeliner so exaggerated it could land a plane.
Unpopular opinion? I don’t hate it. In fact, I kind of love that Julia finally served us a look with direction and deliberate artistry. It’s theatrical. It’s referential. It’s chaotic in a curated way. And for once, it’s not trying too hard — because it knows it’s too much.
